Andrea Szigetvári

Andrea Szigetvári is an electroacoustic music composer and teacher. Her creative and research interests include new music, interactive performance, audiovisual art and politically engaged electroacoustic music theatre. She likes to compose every detail of her works while leaving space for improvised and performative interpretations of her ideas. She studied in Warsaw and later, as a Fulbright scholar, in the USA. She completed her doctorate studies at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest. Currently she is a reader of Composition Faculty at the same Liszt Academy where she heads the Electronic Music Media Art program. As the founder and leader of Hungarian Computer Music Foundation, she has organized international new music festivals, conferences and pan-European projects.
