Bettina Knaup
Bettina Knaup (Berlin) works internationally as a curator and cultural producer at the intersection of art, politics and knowledge production with an emphasis on Live Art, Performance and Gender. She studied Theatre, Film and Media Studies, Political Science and Gender Studies. Her projects include: the “open space forum at the International Women’s University” (with Beatrice Ellen Stammer), Hanover, 1998–2000; the “International Festival of Contemporary Arts, City of Women” (with Sabina Potocki), Ljubljana, 2001–2004. She contributed to the transdisciplinary performing arts laboratory “In Transit” (House of World Cultures, Berlin, 2002–2003), and was founding director of the European cultural platform LabforCulture (European Cultural Foundation, Amsterdam, 2004–2006). Recent projects include: the travelling exhibition and performance project “re.act.feminism #2 – a performing archive”, which travelled through Europe during 2011–2013 (with Beatrice E. Stammer, www.reactfeminism.org); the festival “Performance Platform. Body Affects” (with Silke Bake), Sophiensaele, Berlin, 2012; the exhibitions “re.act.feminism – performance art of the 1960s and 70s today” (with Beatrice Ellen Stammer), Academy of Arts, Berlin, 2008–2009; “and now. Women artists from the GDR” (with Angelika Richter and Beatrice Ellen Stammer), Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, 2009; and the performance festival “Performing Proximities” (Beursschouwburg, Brussels, 2008). She is an international lecturer and jury member at such institutions as: Advanced Performance Training, Antwerp; fabrik Potsdam; and the Department of Theatre Studies at the Free University of Berlin (FU Berlin).
