Karmen Ponikvar

Karmen Ponikvar is a Slovenian sound artist, performer and researcher in the field of electronic and electroacoustic music. Her practice includes recording, listening, composing and performing with the use of analogue electronics, modular synths, field recordings and studio processing. Her sonic terrain, depicting a transmutation of one material into another, combines fragments of synthesized electronic sounds and modulated field recordings to create hyperrealistic sonic worlds. She is currently studying sonology at the Institute of Sonology in The Hague. In her research work, she focuses on microtonal sonic structures and relationships between sound, space and place.
