Masayah

Masayah (Mia Puhar Rodin) is a young musician from Ankaran and one of the most well-known female artists on the Slovenian hip-hop scene. At the age of 16, she played guitar alongside Robert Vatovec at the Melodies of the Sea and the Sun Festival. Masayah is the author of more than forty rap songs written in Slovenian. Her lyrics are socially engaged and touch upon youth, inequality, discrimination, and technology addiction. With the release of her highly anticipated single Ni panike (No Panic, 2022), she celebrated the beginning of spring and her 21st birthday. In collaboration with literary historian Igor Saksida, she published H2SO4 (2022), a collection of Slovenian rebel poetry, to which she contributed eight lyrics and her original musical interpretations of selected rebel poems.
