Sara Renar
Sara Renar is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Zagreb, Croatia, considered one of the best musicians of the new generation in former Yugoslavia. She has released five solo albums with her latest one, Šuti i pjevaj (Shut Up and Sing, 2021), not coincidentally released on March 8. For all of her albums, she contributed both the lyrics and music as well as her distinctive vocals. Her album Djeca (Children, 2013) was nominated for the 2014 Porin Award for best debut album; a year later, she won the Porin Award for her vocal performance of songs from her EP Jesen (Autumn, 2014). She has played more than 250 concerts across Europe – including at the 2016 Ment Festival in Ljubljana. Her most notable collaboration is the EP Hyperventilation (2021) with Croatian techno producer and DJ Insolate. She contributed music to a number of performances and projects including radiodrama, theatre, video game soundtracks and poetry performances.
