shape(s)witch
shape(s)witch is an electronic sound project by two cyborgs that use DIY synths and live samplers to create transitions from a cisnormative future to a chimeric one. The tensions and anxieties of the post-capitalist cis-inferno, where the cyborgs take their shapes, are released through emissions of signals that, at times, sound melancholic, but never succumb to despair. DIY soldering of the synths prompts a consideration of the purpose, configuration, visual image and connectivity. Similarly, the cyborgs contemplate their own bodies, even though the DIY ethic is here constrained by the laws, bureaucracy and institutions. They want to cut off their arms, legs, genitalia, hair, tits, hands and feet and re-assemble them step by step, soldering together the things that fit each other and relegating to a drawer the ones that don’t. shape(s)witch are lora and ebe.
