Volunteers hold funerals for the deceased who are forgotten and neglected by all. On the beachfront, a telephone in a booth rings. A young couple strolling by picks up the phone. On the line, a mother asks to speak to her daughter. Under the questioning eyes of her boyfriend, Albane takes on the part of the daughter. While the night falls, mother and daughter talk on.

This extremely balanced film is an illustration of how everyone tries in their own way to fight loneliness. The maker of the impressive L’escale again takes us along with her to the coast. There, a girl has a phone conversation with an unknown person under false pretences and it is apparent that they have a lot in common. Our gaze is guided and coloured by a separate scene in the film prior to the action.
