Life Enrichment for Animals in Captivity, Domestic Animals, and Pets

Animal
enrichment techniques are founded on an integral, interdisciplinary approach,
encompassing biology, ecology, ethology, and animal psychology. The result is a
dynamic process which aims to bring an element of surprise and novelty into
unnatural habitats, while approximating life and living conditions to those of
natural habitats. Following long years and a rich experience in theatre
experiments, Breda Kralj expanded the limits of this interdisciplinary approach
to include art and design. This inventive, creative symbiosis of artistic
talent and biological expertise brought forth a new form of professional and
imaginative design for animals instead of people, and the possibility to
develop a deeper symbiosis and co-existence between both. The author of the
first Slovenian professional textbook on dog massage Masaža psov – dotik namesto ukaza (Dog Massage – Touch Instead of Command) will instruct participants on how to improve the quality of
(wo)man/dog co-existence with a hands on massage approach.
