Katarina Stegnar
Katarina Stegnar graduated in theatre acting in 2002 from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television of the University of Ljubljana. She has left a significant mark on the independent scene as a collaborator of the platform for research, development and production of contemporary performing arts Via Negativa, member of the groups Betontanc and Beton Ltd., and actress in performances by the Glej Theatre, the Anton Podbevšek Theatre, the Slovenian National Theatre Drama Ljubljana, the E.P.I. Centre, the Way Factory Group, the Ljubljana Dance Theatre, the Ex-Ponto Festival, the Maska Institute, etc. Since 2014, she has been a member of the Mladinsko Theatre ensemble, with which she has worked since 2002. She has also played several visible film roles. Her creative endeavours in theatre won her the Zlata ptica Award (2005), the Veljko Maričić Award for best actress at the International Small Stages Festival in Rijeka (2007), the Prešeren Fund Award for roles in Mladinsko Theatre performances and independent scene productions (2016), and most recently, two group awards at the Borštnik Festival: for acting in the play The Man Who Watched the World (2017) and the grand award for best play for the performance 6 (2018).
