Alenka Veler

Alenka Veler is an editor and translator. She graduated in Slovenian language and literature and German language and literature from the Ljubljana Faculty of Arts. She is a former staff member of Radio Študent, former editor of literary magazines Cicido and Ciciban (2000–2010), editor of publications from the Kinobalon series (2008–2010), advisor on the educational programme Slon (2007–2010) and one of the programme managers of the Festival of Engaged Writing Itn. (2017–2020). Since 2010, she has been a full-time employee of the Mladinska knjiga publishing house as editor of young adults’ fiction. She is the editor and head of the book project The Unforgettable: The Women Pushing the Boundaries of Our World.
