Nika Kovač

Nika Kovač is an anthropologist and sociologist known for her engaged activism. She is the director of 8 March Institute and one of the initiators of the Slovenian #jaztudi (#metoo) campaign. She is the author of Pogumne punce (Brave Girls, 2018), a book presenting the life stories of 30 women who are hardly remembered in history despite their remarkable achievements. She co-authored Nepozabne: ženske, ki so premikale meje našega sveta (The Unforgettable: The Women Pushing the Boundaries of Our World, 2020). From the very beginning, she has been the driving force behind the Festival of Engaged Writing Itn. and a member of its programme committee (2017–2020).
