Aleksandra Bajde

Aleksandra Bajde is a Slovenian composer and singer living in Vienna. She studied the violin, the piano, classical singing, jazz singing, international relations and European studies at a number of universities and institutes in Slovenia, the Netherlands, France, Germany and Austria. She is currently working on her PhD in political science at the University of Vienna. Her main interest lies in exploring and experimenting with the endless possibilities of sound and its expression, while also forging new links with other art forms and genres. In 2020, she was awarded the Theodor Körner Förderpreis Award for her composition Self-Portraits in Imaginary Places. Her music has been performed at prominent venues and festivals around Europe.
