Lotta & Uzi Geffenblad
Lotta Geffenblad is an illustrator and the author of children’s books and multiple award-winning animated films. She is the co-owner of Zigzag Animation, where the films about Spot and Splodge are produced. After her graduation in design, her interest in illustration led her towards animation, and she has mainly worked on short animated films since then. She is probably best known for Björnes Magazine, her contribution to the children TV series about Björnes, The Teddy Bear that generations of children and young adolescents in Sweden grew up with. Other than Spot and Splodge and Aston’s Stones, which were screened at the Animateka Festival, she and her husband Uzi have also produced the multi-award-winning Apricots and the medium-length animated film for children Among the Thorns, whose overall production took them seven years. Their favourite genres are puppet animation films and animated films using the “cut-out” technique.
Uzi Geffenblad is a musician, composer, director and producer. He studied psychology and children’s culture at Stockholm University. He occasionally holds lectures on screenwriting, sound and production of animated films.
