Call for Applications for a Professional Conference for Teachers

At the beginning of the new school year, we warmly invite teachers to a professional training titled Sisterhood, which will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Kinodvor (Kolodvorska 13), the Tabor Student Dormitory Hall (Kotnikova ulica 4), and ŠKUC Gallery (Stari trg 21) in Ljubljana.

The program includes a screening of the film Sisters in the Sauna by director Anna Hints, where women share their deepest secrets and intimate experiences, wash away shame, and find strength in community. The screening will be followed by an experiential workshop Creating a Safe Space, led by Sara Šabec, where we will explore our own boundaries and learn how to create an inclusive space for others. This will be followed by a lecture and workshop on Conflict Resolution with Tanja Hrovat Svetičič from the Association for Nonviolent Communication. The session will deepen our understanding of conflicts and constructive ways to resolve them. We will define the difference between conflicts and violence and strengthen our competencies to deal with both. The day will conclude with a guided tour of Katarina Jazbec’s exhibition, exploring the theme of sisterhood in visual art, led by Iva Kovač.

Registrations are open until September 24, 2024, via the KATIS system (log in with your username and password, select the 2024/25 school year, and choose Mesto žensk as the organizer). NGOs, associations, institutes, and those not part of the public education system can register through the application form.
