Extended! Call for Application for Lovisa Ósk Workshop

Due to cancellations and illness, we are seeking additional participants for the project When the Bleeding Stops. We are looking for individuals aged 40 to 65 who have experienced (peri)menopause.

Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir addresses the silence and taboo surrounding menopause in Western society, as well as her personal experiences of aging as a dancer. The performance When the Bleeding Stops invites the audience into a world of vulnerability, shame, empathy, and humor. The work takes us into the privacy of participants’ homes, delving deeply into the many layers of experiences related to menopause, and invites us to celebrate life in all its stages. Lovísa aims to change the narrative around menopause in Western society and has embarked on a mission to tour the world with this performance, connecting with local menopausal participants in each location and inviting them to join her on stage.

Participation involves exchanging emails, a few short videos recorded on your phone, attending a workshop on October 12, and performing on October 13.

We still have a few spots open for participation. If interested, please sign up at contact@cityofwomen.org. Knowledge of English is preferred but not required.

This project is carried out in collaboration with Zavod En Knap (Španski borci). The performance will be part of the 30th edition of the City of Women festival.
