Nominations for the Women on Women Award are now open!
The achievements of women are often forgotten or overlooked in today's still patriarchal society. In the City of Women, we are searching for heroines, fighters for equality, advocates for the common and the communal, overlooked champions of efforts for a better world. Do you know someone like that? Nominate her* for the Women on Women Award.
The WoW Awards are a response to the systematic erasure of women*, their work, and achievements from the historical canon. We do it with the motto: If we want history to be written in our name, we must write it ourselves. With these awards, we highlight and unveil the invisible work, stories, courage, and determination of individuals and collectives, fighters for a better world.
You can only nominate women* and collectives who did or still contribute significantly to the fight for gender equality and social justice in our society. They may be activists, cleaners, farmers, doctors, lecturers, scientists, social workers, lawyers, teachers, artists, or something else. If they are making our society better, their place is among the five winners of this year's Women on Women Award.
We are accepting nominations until February 8th. They will be evaluated by a committee appointed by the City of Women. The five winners will be announced in early March 2024.
Any questions can be sent to pr@cityofwomen.org.
*Under the term women, we understand cisgender, transgender, and intersex women.
