Peter & the Wolf, the classic story by Sergei Prokofiev,
one of the most important composers of the 20th century, was adapted
and directed by the very talented animator Suzie Templeton. This story
of a boy who lives with his grandfather at the periphery of a dark
forest is well known. The only friends Peter has are a spirited old bird
and a duck who inspire him to go an adventure beyond the house fence.
When a wolf comes out of the forest and devours the duck, Peter finds
extraordinary courage and catches the wild animal. Eventually he frees
the wolf, who then returns to the forest. The film received the Academy
Award for Best Short Animated Film as well as the Grand Prix and
Audience Award at Annecy Animation Festival 2007 in France. (Breakthru
