Lovefuckers are Anna Menzel, Ivana Sajević, Annemie Twardawa, and Nils Zapfe. They follow the tracks of borderliners, outlaws, and revolutionaries; they mix pop with puppets, and performance with video projections. Since their formation in 2009, they have been trying to find love while looking into the abyss, where everything is sick, and put some glitter on all that dirt. In 2020, they researched menstruation taboos at the Flausen+ residency. Together with youth theatres tjg. theater junge generation (Germany) and Dschungel Wien (Austria), they explored different forms of resistance in various art forms as part of the Forms of Resistance project, funded by the German Federal Cultural Foundation (2019–2021). In 2022, they began their research on the subjectivity of truth with the support of the Berlin senate. Their performance The Return of Ishtar (2020) was awarded the Austrian award STELLA 21 for outstanding scenography and puppets.
