Bara Kolenc

Bara Kolenc (Sl) is a performance artist and philosopher from Ljubljana, Slovenia. She holds a PhD in Philosophy and works as a researcher at the University of Ljubljana. In 2014, she published her book Repetition and Enactment: Kierkegaard, Psychoanalysis, Theatre at Analecta, DTP, Ljubljana. Shaped by extensive training in classical and contemporary dance, receiving also the DanceWEB scholarship at ImpulsTanz in 2003, she has thus far created twelve evening-length performances, eight youth performances and numerous short performances, performative acts, installations, lectures, and lecture-performances. For her work at the intersection of performing arts, visual arts and theory, she has received several awards, most recently the prominent award Theatertreffen Stückemarkt Comission of Work 2016.
