Béatrice Josse

Béatrice Josse (currator of exhibition and director of Fonds régional d'art contemporain de Lorraine, Metz, France) was born in Paris in 1965 and studied Art History and Law. Over the past 20 years she has organized numerous group exhibitions and public art projects with artists such as Tadashi Kawamata, Thomas Hirschhorn, Hans Schabus and Tania Mouraud, and individual projects with Thierry Kuntzel, Teresa Margolès, Tania Bruguera, Lida Abdul, Cildo Meireles and Doug Wheeler.
 
She initiated the renovation of the historic building where FRAC Lorraine resides today. Known as 49 Nord 6 Est, it has been conceived as a multi-disciplinary platform where politically-poetic subjects are dealt with through a feminist and post-colonial approach. The collection that she has built up is largely devoted to the invisible, to performance and women artists, and constitutes a space of reflection and experimentation open to critical dialogues.
 
Béatrice Josse has contributed to numerous exhibitions in France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Scotland, Czech Republic, Poland and Latin America.
