Corinne Eckenstein

Corinne Eckenstein is a theatre director, choreographer and dramaturgist. She studied acting and dance at the Nat Horne Musical Theatre and School in New York and physical theatre at the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre in San Francisco. In 1995, together with Lilly Axster, she founded the off-theatre company Theater FOXFIRE. She worked as a freelance director and choreographer at Junges Theater Basel (Theater der Künste) in Zürich, Theater der Jugend (Schauspielhaus Wien) in Vienna and Junges Schauspielhaus in Hannover. She has been the artistic director of the Vienna-based theatre for young audiences Dschungel Wien since 2016. She likes to develop theatre plays in writing labs in collaboration with performers; the latter often include children and teenagers performing alongside professional dancers and actors. Corinne Eckenstein lives and works in Vienna.
