Hana Al Bayaty

Hana Abdul Ilah Al Bayaty (1979) is a French-born Iraqi activist, political scientist, journalist, and author of the documentary films Dar Al Salam (2001) and On Democracy in Iraq (2003). She has a Master in Political Science from the Sorbonne (2000) and a DESS from the Poitiers Documentary Film School (2001). She is member of the BRussells Tribunal Committee (an association of intellectuals, artists, and activists who denounce the logic of permanent war promoted by the American government and its allies) and has been co-ordinator of the Iraqi International Initiative on Refugees since 2007.
