Isild Le Besco
Although Isild Le Besco is best known for her acting work (Sade, Roberto Zucco), she is a multifaceted artist. Besides writing and directing her own films, she is a painter and a novelist. Her first screen-appearance dates from 1985 (she was 13!). For her performances she has received dozens of prestigious nominations and awards, most recently the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actress at the Venice Film Festival. Both her feature film debut Demi-tarif and her second Charly won the Crossing Europe Award (Linz) for Best Film. Le Besco is a truly original voice in European cinema. The screenings will be followed by a Q&A with the director.
