Ivo Novo
Iva Nova was founded by four Babsley members, but whereas the latter’s repertoire is based on rearranged folk songs, Iva Nova immediately started writing and performing their own material. After one year they released a debut album, followed by a live DVD in 2005 and a second album, Chemodan, a year later. Due to their fervid trash-folk concerts in Russia and beyond, on stages and at festivals across Europe, the Russian edition of Rolling Stone Magazine has dubbed them “the coolest Russian female band”, while the Dutch VPRO radio has described them as “the Russian Pogues”.
