Jette Ostan Vejrup

Jette Ostan Vejrup graduated in 1986 at the Århus Teater Akademi in Denmark and in 1988 at the École internationale de théâtre de Jacques Lecoq in Paris. She has performed in several theatres in the USA, the UK and Denmark and collaborated with the British theatre group Théâtre de Complicité. She taught movement and improvisation for two years at the international theatre school Ole Brekke in Copenhagen. The role of the Woman in Handke’s Railway Information (EG Glej, 1989) was her first role in Slovenian theatre; for her performance, she received, with the entire team of authors, the Borštnik Award for special achievements. At first, she was a freelance artist in Slovenia, creating a number of important roles in many Slovenian theatres, notably the Slovenian National Theatre Drama Ljubljana. Since 2004, she has been a member of the Ljubljana City Theatre ensemble. She has appeared in several TV series and short as well as feature films. She has received three Borštnik Awards for best acting (1990, 2007 and 2015), two Golden Wands (1998 and 2005), two Dnevnik Awards (2011 and 2018) and the Stane Sever Fund Award (2020). In 2021, she won the Borštnik Ring, the most important Slovenian award for acting achievements.
