Michiel Soete

Michiel Soete works as a performing arts octopus: he is a theatre maker, actor, teacher, coach, lighting designer, musician, technician, production manager, scenographer and bricoleur, usually combining those roles simultaneously. In his participatory projects, he often works with vulnerable people, mainly kids and young people, or within vulnerable urban contexts. He collaborated with urban projects, many organisations and specific groups, like children with autism or behavioural disorders as well as people with disabilities, brain disease or dementia. He has made several performances with young people, performed for children, gave theatre workshops and coached theatre students in Modena and Brussels. Working with large groups, he is a playful and committed motivator, coach and director.
