Nika Ham
Nika Ham (1991) is a graduated painter who is currently finishing her Master's degree at the Academy of Fine Art and Design in Ljubljana. She studied in Great Britain, was involved in various projects supported by the city of Ljubljana and was part of many group and solo exhibitions.
She painted live at performances in the outdoor theatre Križanke and at an event for a book release of the author Miss Black Monroe in the Atrium ZRC Sazu. She organized her art classes for children in the city of Borovnica and was responsible for the visual image of Klub Tiffany for County Cunty events.
Last year she was in Vienna as Head of graphic design for the LET’S CEE Film Festival. Meanwhile, she has been working at the Museum of Modern Art in Ljubljana and in the Laibach Kunst department. In the year 2017 she started studying at the School for curatorial practice and critical writing World of Art, SCCA, Ljubljana.
Her focus in painting is human figure and portrait, combined with abstract elements. During her latest years, she has been interested in digital art, which gives her the dimension that is necessary when demonstrating present day social and political conditions. Sometimes she uses herself as a performative object of her expression.
