Robin Vanbesien
Robin Vanbesien is a visual artist, filmmaker, researcher and educator. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Antwerp and Sint-Lucas School of Arts where he coordinates the Master programme Socio-Political Context. In his work – including film, installation, performance, study circle, workshop, and writing – he explores the reciprocities between artistic poetics and social practices. His recent projects, the wasp and the weather (2018–2020) and Solidarity Poiesis (2016–2018), undertake the study of self-organised and emancipatory social practices. His work has been presented both nationally and internationally (amongst others at the Centre Pompidou, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Contour Biennale, Athens Biennale, and Sculpture International Rotterdam). His most recent publication is Solidarity Poiesis: I Will Come and Steal You (2017).
