Sanja Iveković

Sanja Iveković is one of Europe’s most eminent contemporary artists, and the most established in Croatia today. She hails from a generation who, in the former socialist Yugoslavia, were referred to under the all-embracing title of New Art Practice. Sanja Iveković is one of the pioneers of contemporary video art and post-conceptual critical art, and has participated in the world’s most important international contemporary art events, from 11. Dokumenta, Manifesta 2, as well as the Sao Paolo, Liverpool and Cetinje biennials, to exhibitions at the Tate Modern, Generali Foundation, Kunst Werke, Witte de With, BAK (Utrecht), Secession (Vienna) amongst other venues. Sanja Iveković has also received a great many awards, and was recently granted a prestigious DAAD scholarship.
