Weavers
Weavers is a display of four individual exhibits -
situations presented in a sequence of four stories. Each
of the four move before the viewer; each has its own
name, and each establishes its own world, whilst one
sacrifices its title for the sake of the entity. The first
piece entitled Spring Water is a prologue, while the
second, Pavers, talks about the endless displacement
of sediment deposited through time. These works are
followed by the Two Gatherers, a narrative about the
attachment and addiction to people and property. The
performance is concluded by Weavers, in which the
performers focus on weaving the pattern of a carpet
that should in the end document the performance and
round it up as an entity.
The exhibits of the story are not directly inter-connected.
The space between the end of one story and the beginning
of another is presented as an independent entity
in which the presence of (non)performance is a tool of
the play.
