Ana Maskalan

Ana Maskalan is a research associate in the Centre for Youth and Gender Studies at the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb. She graduated and received her PhD from the Department of Philosophy at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. Beside gender and utopian studies, the areas of her research interest include theories of body identity, transhumanism, pop culture, cyberculture, culture of fear, and political and social issues of social justice and discrimination. She participated in a dozen research projects and is the author of the book Woman’s Future: The Philosophical Discussion on Utopia and Feminism (Zagreb: Plejada, ISRZ, 2015) and a co-author of Identity and Culture (M. Labus, L. Veljak, A. Maskalan and M. Adamović, Zagreb: IDIZ, 2014).
