Lina Akif
Lina Akif was born in 1995 in Maribor and went to Prva gimnazija Maribor High School, throughout which she acted on Prvi oder stage. In 2015, she enrolled in the Academy of Theatre, Radio and Television (AGRFT) at the University of Ljubljana, where she studied under the mentorships of Sebastijan Horvat and Nataša Barbara Gračner. She received her BA for her appearance in Antiprojekt Unesco (2019), directed by Tijana Zinajić, and in Stadion Olympia (2019) by Maša Pelko. She acts in both institutional and independent theatres. In 2021, she got into performance art with her debut performance Rada imam Slovenijo in Slovenija ima rada mene. At the AGRFT, she obtained her MA under the mentorship of Boris Ostan with her performance The Passion of Slovenia (2021). In 2022, she received the Borštnik Award for Young Actress for her roles in drama plays Vsi ptice (2020), Črna koža, bele maske (2021) and Vročina (2021).
