EMA KUGLER

Ema Kugler, director, screenwriter, set designer, costume designer, and picture and sound editor, is a multidisciplinary artist with a unique and distinctive authorial expression. Her authorial opus encompasses three full-length feature films, as well as numerous shorter video films, performances, and fine arts installations… Her distinctive visual language, marked by extreme precision and the highest aesthetic standards, tells stories of the depths pertaining to the human spirit and locates them in universal themes, which intertwine with a strong symbolic dimension. She is the recipient of numerous awards in Slovenia (the Prešeren Fund Award and Zlata ptica), and abroad, including the Spirit of Moondance Award (Moondance Festival, 2004, USA), the Gold Remi Award (Worldfest Houston, 2002 and 2004, USA), etc.
