Klaus

Klaus
are the bright new hope of Rijeka’s
alternativeunderground scene. Their variation on electro-noisepunk- new wave,
drawing on the legacy of pioneers such as Einstürzende Neubauten, Big Black,
and the early PJ Harvey,
is breaking ground for the new generation of Croatian bands. Their expression
does not hide behind clichés, but delivers an energetic full-frontal attack, felt
full blast during live performances. The raw sound of bass, guitar,
percussions, and electronic samples leaves a deep and permanent mark on the
audience. Uncompromising, edgy, almost rebellious lyrics sarcastically digest
the anxiety driven individual of our not exactly friendly
world. Despite the low-fi production and muddy sound, the musical articulation
of Klaus is sincere and penetrating.

Klaus is
the project of bass player and singer Nora. She started recording as a ‘one-woman
band’ two years ago, and only after one year did Klaus also become a live act,
performing on stage as a trio while studio recordings are made by Nora alone.
Since their debut concerts in April 2007, they have won high praise both at
home and abroad. They have staged several concerts at festivals and venues such
as RiRock (Rijeka), Exit (Novi
Sad), Viva la Pola (Pula), and the
PitchWise festival (Sarajevo), and at the clubs
Kset (Zagreb) and Discordia (Rijeka).

Nora:
bass guitar, vocals, synthesizer, electronics
Bexx: guitar

DJane
Timika
(Subotica) Piano, solo singing, the
dance-funk-soul madness of the 80’s, Madchester, psychedelia, electropop… This
is how the then Timea Szalas started “relishing” music. Diversity and a vast
musical span helped in establishing Timika as one of the best DJanes within
ex-Yugoslavia. Prepare yourselves for the dance extremes within the genres
of minimal house/techno, electro house, and electropop. DJane Timika, well
known to Slovenian audiences, will once again have the opportunity to convince
us that music and dancing are the essence of us all.

DJane
e.llem
(Sarajevo) a.k.a. the Queen of Noise, is Ilvana Dizdarević, photographer and political science student. Ilvana
is the sort of DJ who stays on the dance floor after she is through with her
set, supporting, following, and attentively listening to her colleagues. It is
best if DJane e.llem performs last, since her musical repertoire is sharp,
robust, and so full of unyielding nuclear energy that the party simply never
ends.
