The Festival of Migrant Film is hosting a screening of Catastrophe Blues I (2020), a cinematic self-portrait of the WoW Group members: Sammar Al Kerawe, Favour Edokpayi Musa, Katja Kovač, Victoriia Pospelova and Samar Zughool. In 2020, they spent several months investigating the relations between the oppressors, systems of persecution, and precarity while reading Samuel Beckett’s Catastrophe and collaborating with the WoW Group coordinator Tanja Završki, and the Dublin-based artists Bernie O’Reilly and Maud Hendricks (Outlandish Theatre Platform). With artist Đejmi Hadrović, they later created a video performance showcasing self-portraits in which they explored the problem of precarity and the sites holding resonance to it.
The screening will be followed by a talk with the artists (in English).
On Thursday, 17 June, a workshop accompanying the installation Catastrophe Blues II| WoW Stories Ljubljana will be held at the Tabor Sports Association (The Left Hall).
