The World of Us
xx CITY OF GIRLS
South Korea / 2016 / 94'
Film / 8+
The film is not only a story about peer violence, but also about a child who cannot integrate into society, about a sensitive girl suffocated by complete solitude.
Children and adults all over the world treat
each other cruelly. But if in Korea your school
results aren’t good, you might indeed be
considered a bad friend. Children might care
more about your grades than about your
personality. That’s sad. But when I was young,
there were other reasons equally cruel. As you
see it in the film: when one is from a rich family
and one is poor, this makes it more difficult to
get along together.
