Gwendoline Robin
Gwendoline Robin studied at the Brussels’ La Cambre – École Nationale Supérieure Des Arts Visuels, majoring in urban and rural space. Rather than relating her projects to the spectacular tradition of fire art, she introduces the elements of conceptualism. Thus, in accepting an invitation for a presentation of her poetry, Robin responds with a performance at which she explodes her book into a thousand pieces. Even during her studies – and in particular when she was studying in Valencia – a city with long tradition of bonfires and fireworks – Robin dedicated herself to performing flaming social sculptures in public spaces. She has participated at various festivals and venues, including the De Singel, Factor 44 arts centres in Antwerp, as well as the CCNOA and the Maïs Festival in Brussels. Karla Železnik
