Darja Zaviršek

Darja Zaviršek, PhD., is a sociologist, professor and researcher at the Ljubljana Faculty of Social Work, where she is the chair of the Department for Social Inclusion and Justice in the field of handicap, ethnicity and gender. She also teaches at the international postgraduate course at the ASFH in Berlin. In 2008, she founded the East European Sub-Regional Association of Schools of Social Work (EEsrASSW) and the first international doctoral studies in the field of social work. She has published five monographs, co-written six books and been published in numerous scientific journals. In 2016, Zaviršek was awarded the Hokenstad International Lecture, and in 2017, her article was won the title of the article of the year in the International Journal of Social Work Education.
