Gabriela Babnik
Gabriela Babnik is a writer, literary critic, translator and radio play author. She finished her single module studies in comparative literature and literary theory and in 2009, got an MA from Nigerian modern novel. From 2002, she assesses and analyses literary works in regular publication reviews. She won Best Debut Book Award at the Slovenian Book Fair (2007) for her novel Cotton Skin (2007); then wrote the novels In High Grass, Dry Season (2012), Intimate (2015) and Three Deaths (2019). For her novel Dry Season, translated into over ten languages, she got the European Union Award for Literature and the Stritar Award (2013). She mostly translates African authors.
