Katarina Jazbec
Katarina Jazbec (she/her) is a visual artist and a filmmaker using participatory artistic tools, such as movement scores, reading groups, rituals and writing. Responding to our complex and divided times, she searches for new forms of storytelling that can carry a plurality of perspectives. Central to Katarina’s practice is the question of human and non-human agency in the current economic system. Her recent works lie at the embodied intersection of landscape and labour, emerging from the friction of living in the Netherlands; an extreme nature-controlling environment, and growing up surrounded by wilder nature in Slovenia. Katarina was born in 1991, in Slovenia, and has been living in Rotterdam since 2015. She is an alumnus of the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. Her films have been shown at numerous film festivals around the world.
