Tina Palaić
Tina Palaić is an ethnologist, cultural anthropologist and teacher. She has worked on international projects with the Slovene Ethnographic Museum in Ljubljana for several years, focusing on non-European museum collections. Her work with the issues of racism, migration, and identities has led her to question the ethics and methods of decolonising museum practices. Her PhD project, conducted at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, examines the museum practices of collecting and interpreting non-European collections from the period of the Non-Aligned Movement. Her central research question is whether we can create better strategies of representing the Other based on the distinctive anticolonial approach of non-alignment rather than simply following Western models.
