Slices of Time (Rezine časa)
The story of both Zemira Alajbegović's grandmothers; they were both born
during WWI and survived turbulent times – one as a member of a Muslim community
in Bosnia and Herzegovina
and the second as a Catholic in Slovenia.
Although they never met, their stories and testimony (just that of the Slovene
grandmother because the Bosnian died in 1993 during the war in Bosnia)
as well memories of relatives bring them to life in front of the spectator's
eyes. This is intimate documentary which holds within it a 20th century
chronicle; from the disintegration of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia,
the socialist Yugoslavia
and finally the disintegration of a common state. (Simon Popek)
