Marcelle Thirache
Born in 1946 in Ivry-Sur-Seine. Thirache began with the practice of photography, exhibiting her work as early as 1978. Discovering, first, Marguerite Duras and the dissociation between sounds and images, followed by the films of Germaine Dulac, fostered her growing interest in cinema, which finally led to her choosing Super 8 in 1982. In 1984, she developed a peculiar skill consisting of hand-painting directly on a Super 8 filmstrip. To complete this cinematographic practice, she began classical painting in 1999.
