Vesna Leskošek

Vesna Leskošek is a professor at the Faculty of Social Work, University of Ljubljana, where she lectures on gender and violence, care regimes and social movements. Her PhD thesis focused on the first wave feminism in Slovenia. She was the honorable president of the Association City of Women. Her main research interests are poverty, social inequality, welfare state and gender. Recently, she has been researching the growing industry of food waste donations. Her latest publications include an edited volume titled Violence against women in Slovenia (Aristej, 2013) and articles on family and fertility policy as a substitute for social policy, on the violence against pregnant women, on care work and on poverty of older women.
