Tanja Komadina
Tanja Komadina studied visual communication design at the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts and Design where she received an award for her artistic achievements. She illustrates books and handbooks for children and young adults and regularly publishes her own comic strips and illustrations in children’s magazines Ciciban, Cicido and Galeb. In 2014, she released her first independent comic strip Fino kolo (A Nice Bike) which won her the Zlata hruška (Golden Pear) quality mark. The work was featured in the White Ravens list, a selection of the best international children’s and youth literature, and translated into Swedish in 2016. In 2017, she received the Levstik Award for her illustrations for Maša Ogrizek’s Gospa s klobukom (The Lady with the Hat). She works as arts editor at the Mladinska knjiga publishing house. She is one of the illustrators of the book The Unforgettable: The Women Pushing the Boundaries of Our World and curator of the accompanying exhibition.
