Nicole Fernández Ferrer
Nicole Fernández Ferrer is coordinating the Paris-based Centre audiovisuel Simone de Beauvoir, which is focused on the archiving, distribution, production, and analysis of feminist and LGBT+ films. Currently, she is screening, shooting, and analysing films with imprisoned women and young people together with the non-profit organisation Lire c'est Vivre (To read is to Live). Nicole has lectured on women’s film and feminist video in New York, Rio de Janeiro, Madrid, Arequipa, Beijing, Barcelona, and Taipei, and served as a jury member in various festivals. She has programmed the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in Paris, the Creteil International Women’s Films Festival and Racines Noires, among others. She works as a translator for films (from Spanish and Portuguese to French). She is a board member of the 7ème Genre, the Archives du Féminisme, the Centre Hubertine Auclert and the Cinémas du Sud-Tilt. She lives and works in Paris.
