Darko Leitner-Stojanov
Darko Leitner-Stojanov is a historian who specializes in the history of modern and ancient migrations. He earned his MA in 2006 and his PhD in 2013 at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Paris. He previously served as an associate professor at the Institute for National History in Skopje from 2009 to 2022. Most recently, he was a project collaborator at the Austrian Academy of Sciences/Institute for Habsburg and Balkan Studies from 2020 to 2023. Currently, he is conducting independent research funded by the City of Vienna. Darko's work revolves around the convergence of historiography and ethnography, with a specific focus on oral history, photography, archives, and the experiences of migrants.
