Barbara Kapelj

Barbara Kapelj is a set designer and visual artist. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana. For the last twenty-five years, she has been creating set designs for films, and for theatre- and dance performances. She collaborated with Marco Fabbro, Silvia Zeitlinger Vas, Miroslav Mandić, Snježana Premuš, Žiga Divjak, Simona Semenič, Ana Monro Theatre, Janez Janša, Sebastijan Horvat, and others. She is also author of numerous installations and performances (e.g. Borders, Biographical Fempath 1, Women of Ljubljana, and I’m Walking Behind You and Watching You), depicting the paths of women in the struggle for justice and emancipation of the oppressed. In 1993, she received the Sever Prize for her work in performing arts.
