Public Call for Program Management of the Association and Festival City of Women

The Association for the Promotion of Women in Culture – City of Women is announcing a public call for the program leadership of the association and the City of Women festival.

If this description resonates with you, we have an excellent opportunity for you! The Association for the Promotion of Women in Culture – City of Women is seeking a new program leader.

We offer candidates paid contractual work in a creative and pleasant working environment in Ljubljana. A team of five colleagues, with extensive experience, ensures year-round program selection, coordination, and organization, successfully navigating the challenges of operating in the non-governmental sector. For the festival's execution, a team of ten additional people usually takes care of project-based and volunteer work.

We expect candidates to have:

  • Several years of professional leadership experience in the field of culture and arts;
  • Knowledge of the field both in Slovenia and abroad, with the ability to establish international connections;
  • Proficiency in Slovenian and English languages;
  • Preparation of vision, strategy, and goals for a five-year period (2026–2030);
  • Design of a multi-year program for City of Women, encompassing the following areas: artistic production, festival, international cooperation projects, residency and community projects, library and archive, cultural and artistic education;
  • Experience in forming partnerships and preparing grant documentation (Ministry of Culture, City of Ljubljana, Ministry of Public Administration, Erasmus+, Creative Europe, etc.);
  • Management of ongoing projects;
  • Constructive collaboration with the association's board and membership;
  • Public speaking skills and representing the association publicly;
  • Basic knowledge of relevant legislation in the association's field, involvement in working bodies at local, national, and international levels, and participation in advocacy activities;
  • Ability to connect the creative, production, and administrative teams.

Project collaboration in preparing the program for 2026 is expected to take place in September and October and will be remunerated. Paid work induction will occur between November 1 and December 31, 2025. Assuming the role of artistic director of City of Women will follow on January 1, 2026.

Work is conducted at the City of Women premises, with the possibility of occasional remote work. The remuneration amount will be determined based on agreed collaboration parameters and in line with the association's financial situation.

The candidate must attach to the application: (1) their CV demonstrating their experience, (2) a motivation letter, and (3) an outline of their program vision and guidelines (up to 12,000 characters).

The received applications will be evaluated by the City of Women Board. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
